With the snow rapidly melting in Breckenridge, here are some great hikes to check out the next
time you are in town!
I like McCullough Gulch in Blue River. It is steep toward the end, but there are some cool little waterfalls and a small lake at the top, and usually there is even still some snow up there.

My favorite day hike is Peak One. You can see Breckenridge, Keystone, and Copper from the top! Beautiful views and a grumpy mountain goat make for an exciting day!

One of my favorite trails to hike is the Ptarmigan trail right off I-70. It is a great trail to hike in the morning or the evening. It starts off very steep, but rewards you with breathtaking views of Lake Dillon. http://www.summitcountyexplorer.com/HIKES/Ptarmigan%20Trail%20-%20Hiking%20Trail.htm

Climb North Star Mountain up to the lake, hangout, read and watch for animals! You can access the trail from the top of Hoosier Pass, just outside Breckenridge.

My favorite day hike in Summit County is Mohawk Lakes!

Mohawk Lakes are a lot of fun for people of all skill levels. There is a relatively short hike to the lower lake, and you can make it as long as you want with a few more lakes up above it. Great views and a huge waterfall to look at on the way!

I think that Mohawk Lake is a great day hike! The hike isn’t that strenuous, there is also a cabin you can stop in and check out along the way. The waterfall is very nice, and you can have lunch at the lake.

The Peaks Trail from Breckenridge to Frisco followed by a drink on the deck at The Boatyard is my favorite!
