Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Property Information

Letter from the General Manager

We are very excited to announce that Phase 2 residences at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 (GC8) are open! We welcomed our first owners into these rooms on June 3. The additional Phase 2 rooms will almost double the number of residences we have available for our owners.

We are thrilled about the newly opened units and can’t wait for the additional amenities that will open at the beginning of July:

  • Grand Lobby
  • Infinity Spa
  • Fitness center
  • Grotto
  • Lobby bar
  • Family fun center
  • Private movie theaters (opening end of July)

As a reminder, GC8 owners do not have access to the One Ski Hill amenities.

Aside from the resort amenity openings, you will see other improvements around GC8 in the coming months, including new poolside furniture, additional cooking grills, “yard” games, and an outdoor fireplace on the pool deck. During your next visit you may also notice our effort to add more color around GC8, with the installation of new artwork in all of the units and the common areas. The resort is looking better every day! The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 has some of the best amenities you will find at any resort. We hope you are able to enjoy them very soon.

Not only is the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 a beautiful resort, it is situated at a fantastic location at the base of Peak 8, giving our owners and guests perfect access to all of the activities taking place at this base area during both the winter and the summer months. This summer Breckenridge is proud to launch Epic Discovery. This world-class on-mountain adventure will complement Breck’s existing summer fun. Epic Discovery includes all of the Peak 8 Fun Park’s activities, plus new and exciting adventures. Please go here for more info.

In addition to these thrill-seeking activities right out your front door, the GC8 Activities department has set up discounted rates for many other exciting activities in our area. Please stop by to talk with the Concierge staff to find out how you can get discounted, or even free, activities. The Concierge is located across from the temporary Front Desk on the Terrace Level, but will be relocating to the first floor in the main lobby in July.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Property Information

Letter from the General Manager

Spring has arrived at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8! It’s the perfect time of year to visit Breckenridge for some much-needed R&R. Kick back and relax in your favorite hot tub, take in the views of the Ten Mile Range in the heated pool, head into town and get a table at your favorite restaurant, or grab a passport from the Concierge and try to find a new favorite place by taking advantage of the many two-for-ones being offered.

Our Activities staff has put together a list of activities being offered during this time of the year. Although Breckenridge Ski Resort has closed for the season, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Ski Area are still open and have received some fresh snow recently, making conditions great for spring skiing. The month of May is a time of the year when you can ski, hike, bike, golf, raft, zipline…etc. all in the same day if you wanted to! There are not many places in the world where you can do this. There is certainly something to be said about this and a reason why Summit County has been called Colorado’s playground. I encourage you to come up on Day Use or book some Bonus Time to experience spring in Summit County! Plus, don’t forget about the owners parties taking place at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 each Saturday in May (not on Memorial Day weekend).

The entire staff is very excited and busy preparing to open Phase 2. The resort is looking better every day as we make small improvements and additions to help make your vacation experience Grand! Our Activities staff has been busy working on new activities to offer and adding outdoor games located all around the pool deck for everyone to enjoy! We are curious to see what the resort will look like without snow surrounding it. When we opened in December, we had just received 17 inches of snow, so the staff has not had a chance to see the resort with landscaping throughout.

Last month in the newsletter I encouraged owners to email me with suggestions and feedback on how we can make your resort better. We appreciate all the emails I received. There were some great ideas, and we encourage others to provide additional feedback to us if you have any. Please feel free to email me at jbretz@breckgv.com.

Thank you for reading, and we look forward to seeing you in Breckenridge soon!

Sincerely,

Jason Bretz

It’s hard to believe we only have a few weeks of the ski season left. The staff at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 have been thrilled to see many of our owners experience the resort for the first time! It’s been great to see a lot of familiar faces, plus a pleasure meeting some owners who are new to the BGV family. We are hearing a lot of positive feedback from everyone as they try out GC8’s wonderful aquatics and eat at Robbie’s Tavern for the very first time. If you have not had the chance to visit your new resort yet, please plan a trip soon. Breckenridge has had beautiful spring skiing conditions, with some recent snow.  Spring in Breckenridge is widely known for the best snow in Colorado, along with sunny bluebird days, special events and great deals throughout the town.

The staff at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 continues to look for ways to improve the vacation and Day Use experiences for all of our owners and guests. As with anything new, we are learning more about the resort daily and we encourage our owners to share their feedback with us. I spoke to an owner recently when he was visiting, and he asked if it would be OK to send me feedback after his stay. I said, “Absolutely!” We certainly don’t expect our owners to do this while on vacation, and if anyone would like to pass along feedback, we always appreciate it. Please send it directly to me, jbretz@breckgv.com. Below are a few other “tools” we are utilizing to help us be better tomorrow than we are today:

  • Secret Shopper Surveys –Individuals from an outside “secret shopper” company stay with us several times each year and score us in a variety of different areas so we can become aware of opportunities to improve. We receive detailed reports of their experience for all departments.
  • Inspection Checklists – We are using a software to track service calls, manage special requests and schedule preventative maintenance tasks for all of our resorts. This software also enables us to create inspection checklists so we can provide staff members with scores and areas for improvement based on our observations.

Whether you are staying at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 overnight, or are simply up on Day Use, we look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you during your next visit.

Sincerely,

Jason Bretz

Letter from the General Manager

We are very excited to say that the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 (GC8) has been open for a few, very successful couple of months! The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 is extremely fortunate to have a wonderful staff that is committed to creating Grand vacations—they’re always looking for ways to make your time at the Grand Colorado unforgettable. If you have been an owner with us at our other resorts, you may see some familiar faces welcoming you to the Grand Colorado. Many of our staff members worked for Breckenridge Grand Vacations before joining the GC8 team, so we knew they would be a perfect fit for our newest resort.

We want to remind all owners about our Day Use parking policies. Please make sure to cancel all Day Use reservations or waitlist requests that you will not be able to use. If reservations go unused, owners will lose Day Use privileges for seven days, including any existing reservations. If you are awarded a Day Use parking spot from the waitlist and do not check-in, the same penalty will be applied.

As construction on future phases continues, the Operations team is focused on adding new features and amenities to some of the areas of the resort that opened in Phase 1.

  • The indoor kid’s pool play feature was installed in February and we are currently working on getting the big slide open for older kids and adults.
  • The upper deck of the stables lot will open shortly, allowing us to offer more Day Use parking for our owners.
  • In addition to these two larger updates, you will notice smaller additions throughout the resort, such as decorations in the pool, more signage to help you find your way around and clocks installed at various locations on property.

The entire GC8 staff is committed to making the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 the best ski-in/ski-out resort in Breckenridge, and, we hope, one of the nicest ski resorts you will ever experience. Please continue to share any ideas on how we can make your resort better. We appreciate everyone’s support and help in making GC8 better every day!

We look forward to seeing you during your next visit to the Grand Colorado.

Sincerely,

Jason Bretz

Work Hard, Play Harder: Find the Perfect Career in Breckenridge

Most of us BGV employees ended up living amongst these gorgeous mountains in pursuit of adventure, leaving hopes of a career behind. We were willing to give up traditional lifestyles, choosing instead to focus on living for the moment. We did so gladly. We understood that happiness is achieved through experiences that can’t always be encountered from behind a desk. We kissed our hopes for a career goodbye because we thought that was the compromise we had to make in order to live and play in Summit County. And, it seemed worth it, at least for a short while.

But, what if we told you that you can have your cake and eat it, too? That’s right! You CAN grow your professional career, all while living out your dreams in beautiful Breckenridge. How? Work for Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV). It really is that simple.

BGV is known as the employer of choice in Summit County, consistently distinguished as a Top Workplace by the Denver Post and recently named as the Best Place to Work by the Summit Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. BGV has just over 500 employees, almost 200 of which have been with the company for a significant amount of time. Career longevity is strong at BGV.

With 68 employees having worked at the company for three to five years, 81 employees having worked at the company for five to ten years, and 30 employees having worked at the company for over 10 years, the proof is in the pudding (or, the powder). In case you weren’t aware, those are extremely impressive statistics for this seasonal resort town!

How does BGV manage to not only hang on to employees but get them excited to go to work every day? According to Guest Services Supervisor, Julianna Nopson, “BGV goes above and beyond when it comes to taking care of their employees! When you are a part of BGV, you truly feel like a part of a big happy family who really cares about each other!”

BGV has two full-time employees dedicated to training staff on the BGV culture and it makes a Grand difference. The company embraces an inverted pyramid leadership style, making the executive leadership team approachable and supportive to any level employee. Everyone at the company is treated as an equal, even by the Owners/ Developers, Mike Millisor and Mike Dudick, who know the majority of their 500 employees by name. There are many other reasons that members of the BGV family stick around for so long, but you’ll have to learn more about that in your interview! Apply today at BGVjobs.com.
