Snow has begun to fall in Breckenridge!

The snowcapped peaks have made for a beautiful backdrop as we transition into October. This time of year marks the start of shoulder season, where some of Breckenridge’s local shops and restaurants may vary their hours of operation. Those who stay open tend to offer tremendous discounts. Please visit the Concierge Desk to learn more about the Dining Passport program that highlights the best deals in town!

Please note that the Gondola has halted operation until the ski resort reopens in November. The shuttle service will continue to run during the standard hours of 7:00 a.m. – 10:45 p.m.

Summer is flying by as we look ahead to the month of August. We are looking forward to helping you celebrate any last-minute getaways to the mountains before the 2017/2018 school year commences. Please note that your next commute to the Grand Lodge may take a few extra minutes, as the regrading of Ski Hill Road is in full swing. Shuttle operations may also experience slight delays, making the Gondola a preferred method of transportation into town.

  • The pools and hot tubs have undergone some behind-the-scenes mechanical upgrades that will provide users with easier temperature control. This temperature regulation feature will prove to be especially helpful given the adverse weather conditions that we experience in Summit County.
  • Soothe Spa will be offering complimentary enhancements to a variety of services during the month of August. These enhancements include:
    • Massage – Shea Butter Hydration. Shea butter is incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. It is used to restore and protect the skin.

    • Nails – Vinylux Polish. CND Vinylux Weekly Polish is a breakthrough polish without a base coat! While ordinary polishes break down over time, Vinylux Weekly Polish actually becomes more durable as time passes. Results last for up to a week.

Along with all the great family activities, we’re also offering something new for the adults! We are excited to share that we will soon be partnering with Sevens restaurant to introduce a new beer tasting class that will be offered weekly. Please visit the Activities Desk to inquire about beer tasting and other programs during your vacation.

On July 5, a wildland fire was spotted on Peak 2 in Breckenridge. This fire spread over 87 acres and lead to pre-evacuation measures for some areas within Breckenridge. With the help of local and federal resources, we are happy to report the fire is 85 percent contained and no longer represents a threat to the town or public. We are extremely grateful for the amazing job the firefighters and community did to keep all of its guests and residents safe.

Breckenridge has many family-friendly events for you to enjoy! Please visit the www.gobreck.com webpage for town information. A friendly reminder: afternoon rain showers help keep our mountains green and beautiful. These thunderstorms can cause regular closures to the aquatics facility. Please plan accordingly during your afternoon adventures and do not hesitate to contact the Activities department for any on-demand fun. As always, we want to be better tomorrow than we are today, so please let us know if you have any suggestions for improving your resort.
