Looking to find an adventure and want to join our treasure/scavenger hunt? This is a fun-filled trail following clues that will lead you to buried treasures with a metal detector. Fun for the whole family, let the adventure begin!
Gold Mine Tour
Take an underground tour 1,000 feet into the mine. Hear stories of how Colorado miners found gold, what equipment they used, and how they worked from day to day. Try to strike it rich by participating in an afternoon of gold panning. Take a walk on the wild side and slide down the 55-foot ore chute.
Monster Truck Hay Ride
Take a ride high above the gold mine on a sleigh pulled by Betsy – the 1948 monster truck. You will hear stories about Breckenridge’s gold rush history as you can enjoy the views. You will have the chance to visit the old miner’s cabin and toast s’mores over an open fire (fire restrictions/weather permitting)
Pan For Gold
Did you know that you could pan for gold and keep what you find? Eureka Creek runs through the mountains carrying all types of minerals, including gold nuggets. Come pan for gold on the Eureka Creek and keep your findings!
Meet the Burros
Goldie and Darn are the miniature donkeys that you can come to meet and pet! Burros (miniature donkeys) were used extensively in gold mining times.
