Green Tip

That drip from the bathroom sink is more than annoying.  According to www.thedailygreen.com, a faucet dripping 30 drips per minute wastes 3 gallons a day, or enough for 27 baths a year.  And the USGS estimates that many of our toilets leak approximately 22 gallons of water per day.

With droughts affecting many areas of our country, that is water we can ill afford to waste – not to mention the drain on our water bill.  While the plumber is out to fix that leak, have him or her audit your other sinks, pipes and toilets to recommend ways to save water and money.  It may cost a few dollars to replace wasteful fixtures, but it will pay off over time.  And those who must share our limited sources of water will thank you.
