Owner Tip: Self-Rentals

If you are planning on renting your unit out on your own, please pay attention to a new ordinance by the Town of Breckenridge for short-term rentals. The town of Breckenridge now requires that any unit rented on a short-term basis must display a Breckenridge Business License Number in any advertising. We can provide you with the specific license number for your property, so please contact the Owner Support department if you prefer to rent on your own and before advertising your rental.

For our full guide to self-rentals see below:

If you choose not to participate in our rental program, you have the option of renting out your unit on your own. You may list your rental at any rate you feel appropriate, and we are more than happy to disclose the rates we are charging. To check prices, please call our Owner Support department. You may either rent your week to multiple guests or as one full stay, in order to generate as much income as possible. Many owners utilize vacation rental websites, family and friends, or even social media to find renters.

Listed below are some websites in which owners have had success in the past:

◘   www.redweek.com                                                              ◘   www.vrbo.com

◘   www.vacationtimesharerentals.com                            ◘   www.craigslist.com

◘   www.homeaway.com                                                         ◘   www.flipkey.com

When posting your ad, you are more than welcome to steer owners to our websites to take virtual tours of the units, view amenities, and show what the resort has to offer.

We recommend that you have a contract with any renter to establish rates, policies, etc. Once you have secured a renter for your unit, please give us a call with their name(s) and contact information, including an email address so that a confirmation for their stay can be sent. Your renter will need to have an ID and a major credit card for incidentals upon check-in. You will be responsible for all payments between you and your renter.

You are more than welcome to actively look for renters while you are participating in our rental program. However, we can only accept your renter if your unit hasn’t been rented out or if we are able to move any existing reservations to another available unit. You are allotted one full clean per week, so keep in mind if you are renting your unit on your own and you have more than one renter that you will be responsible for a cleaning fee between stays. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to call our Owner Support department Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
