View from the Bottom

The View from the Bottom is Mike Millisor’s monthly letter to all of the stakeholders of the Breckenridge Grand Vacations family of resorts.

The BGV family knows just how important it is to relax and have fun while on vacation, because like you, we think those are two of the big reasons for going away. Right? That’s exactly why we put so much thought and planning into the amenities we bring to you at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8.

When the first phase of Building 1 opened last December, these amenities also opened:

  • An indoor/outdoor aquatics area that includes:
    • Two swimming pools
    • Children’s pool
    • Waterslide
    • Four outdoor hot tubs
    • One indoor hot tub
  • Robbie’s Tavern at the Bergenhof (aptly named after the beloved Rob Millisor)

If you haven’t yet been to Robbie’s with its indoor and outdoor seating (including a front-row view of the action on the slopes), the atmosphere is uplifting and the food is delicious—just how Rob would have wanted it.

With much anticipation throughout the springtime and an all-hands-on-deck approach, this summer we opened the centerpiece of GC8—the Grand Lobby and its adjacent amenities:

  • The Lobby Bar, with a plethora of seating, big screen TVs, and CEO Mike Dudick mixing your drinks at happy hour every Monday from 4-6 p.m.!
  • Fitness Center, with state-of-the-art cardio and resistance machines, free weights and a view of the mountains across the valley.
  • Infinity Spa, with a full menu of massages and body treatments, a nail salon and a spacious grotto for getting into your true relaxation zone.
  • Family Fun Center to entertain you and your kids for hours!
  • Private movie theaters (for more hours of entertainment).
  • Peak Eight Market, for your sundry needs.
  • Additional Day Use parking.
  • A spacious outdoor grilling area (opening by winter).

And there are still more amenities to come! Those of you who have already been to the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 likely saw the preparation work for the foundation of Building 3 (slated to open in the fall of 2020). When completed, Building 3 will have an outdoor ice rink, coffee shop, more pools and hot tubs, another movie theater, more day use parking, and a rooftop seating area and observation deck for taking in all the beauty of the Rocky Mountain landscape.

In addition, Building 3 will include a Vail Resorts Ski School (for children and adults), ticket office, and a 5,000 square foot rental and retail shop. The convenient location of these will be outstanding for our owners!

Along with the rest of the BGV family, I look forward to seeing you in Breckenridge, enjoying everything that your vacation home offers. And, regardless of where you are an owner, be sure to stop by the GC8 Lobby Bar for Monday’s happy hour so we can raise a toast with you!
