Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Property Info

Letter from the Assistant General Manager

Greetings from Breckenridge!

We have been experiencing some amazing early summer days here in Breckenridge. Many trails and bike paths in the area are filled with locals and amazing owners and guests getting outside to adventure in our magnificent county. The Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve is set to open to the public on July fifth. If you are not familiar with this area, you probably didn’t even realize you ride over it every time you ride the Gondola! When riding the Gondola, it is the beautiful wetlands between the Peak 7 and Shock Hill Stops. This is a great hike and adventure for families of all ages and sizes. You can begin the hike at the Peak 7 Trail Head and walk down to the town base. Once you get down, you can either turn around and hike back up or enjoy the Town of Breckenridge, hop on the Gondola, and view the hike you just accomplished. Many owners and guests of the resort ask for hiking and outdoor recommendations and we are always happy to provide materials for many different hikes. But another great resource we recommend is the All Trails app. Great hikes, bikes and runs right at your fingertips! We look forward to you sharing your adventure plans with us the next time you are on the property.

Summertime in Breckenridge is all about getting outdoors and adventures and that is the theme of my article this month. But as many know who have visited in the past, we can experience some afternoon showers and storms passing through. What do you do during those times? Stop by the Activities Desk to try some of our new fun activities! With the county moving in the right direction with COVID, we are pleased to share we no longer have size limits on our many wonderful activities. Come in and make Root Beer Floats as a family! Hard Root Beer available to those over the age of 21! Always wanted your own Shot Ski, but they are bulky and hard to store? Come decorate your own mini version! They are hand-made by a member of our activities team and bring out your creative side as you decorate and make it your own. We are also pleased to share Yoga has returned to our schedule as well. Offered every Thursday from 8:30-9:30a.m. with talented instructors from Bhava Yoga leading the class. Class sizes are limited due to spacing, so sign up with our activities team or Front Desk early.

We look forward to seeing you in Breckenridge again soon and hope you can get out and explore and enjoy this summer!
