Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Property Information- October

Letter from the Assistant General Manager

Greetings from Breckenridge!

Fall is just about over as we transition into early winter and ski season is just around the corner. Rumor is some ski areas have already started making snow! Keystone resort is planning to open Friday, October 14 and as we all know, Arapahoe Basin will strive to open just before that date. Breckenridge Ski Area does have an anticipated opening date of November 11 which is just around the corner as well. We are working on getting prepped and ready around the resort and making sure ski racks are out, lockers are cleaned and ready, and ski/snowboard work benches are out. Each year it seems fall is shorter and shorter but having our local mountains open is a good trade-off.

During this fall/early winter season, we have been working on many exciting new projects around the property. Take a moment to read some of the highlights below.

  • Finalizing carpet installation for Building 1. We started this project in the spring and will complete the remaining few floors this October.
  • New couches in all Breck Masters and Suite residences.
  • New tabletop games in the Lobby and Elev8 Lounge
  • Replacing Arcade Games in Family Fun Center
  • New chairs/recliners in Theater 2
  • Our on-property activities are now able to be booked online! Click here to book an activity during your stay or next Day Use visit!

We are also happy to share that the Shuttle will be switching to a new and improved ride request software on November 1. More information will be provided at check-in, but we look forward to a sleeker, easier, more streamlined request process for this coming winter!

We look forward to seeing you on the property again soon!

In January 2019, My 5 grandchildren, along with my daughter and son-in-law, joined me for a long weekend in Breckenridge. It was the first time I got to go skiing with my daughter and all 5 grandkids! What a great day for a ski-aholic like me. We came the weekend of the snow sculptures. Is that a sight to see! It’s amazing how intricately carved some of them were. We also went sledding at Carter Park, ice skating, and visited Isak Heartstone, the troll, that weekend. It was a fantastic time together with family. – Mary, Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Owner

We love Breckenridge at any time of the year but spend most of our vacation time there in the winter. Our family tradition is to ski or board on Christmas Day wearing a festive outfit. That way we celebrate on the mountain enjoying the crisp fresh outdoors as a family and hopefully bring a smile to other winter sport enthusiasts as we ride or ski past. – Jen, Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Owner

The best family memory for me is when my wife told me at the top of Peak 6 that she was pregnant with our second child. Now our son has 7 years old and he is good at snowboarding. – Cesar, Grand Lodge on Peak 7 Owner

Big sister and I leading little Anna to her first skiing experience. Anna was just 23 months old, went down a few carpet lift runs holding herself upright, and asked to go again the next day :o) – Marketa, Grand Timber Lodge Owner

Our family has many great memories skiing in Breckenridge but the one that stands out happened on January 2, 2020. While taking a lunch break during a day of skiing we were lucky enough to see these moose on Maggie’s pond! Amazing! – Corinne, Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Owner

My fondest memory skiing in Breckenridge is when I was 8 months pregnant with my son and I had my two-year-old daughter out on the hill. She had so much energy and loved to ski! She was a natural. She had learned the year before and was almost three at this point. We spent six hours on the hill on our first day out and I was exhausted by the time we were done. Apparently so was she because we went back to our home away from home at Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and laid down for a nap, but we both slept through dinner and into the morning. – Bethany, Grand Lodge on Peak 7 Owner

We took our 6-month old daughter Naomi swimming for the very first time. She really enjoyed getting in the new pools at GC8! – Paul, Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Owner
