Breckenridge Ski Resort has closed for the season which means it’s time to dig the bikes, fishing rods and hiking shoes out of storage!  With the arrival of summer we are eagerly anticipating all of the exciting outdoor activities that await our guests and owners.

Breckenridge is fortunate to be home to some of Colorado’s best biking and hiking trails.  While visiting be sure to pick up a dual suspension carbon mountain bike from your favorite shop and hit one of the many gold rated trails situated minutes from the Lodge.  Or challenge yourself to conquer one of the many 14ers within half an hour of Breckenridge.

The adventures don’t end on the dirt trails so make sure to bring your waterproof clothing.  White-water rafting can be an exhilarating experience for those looking to test their skills or it can be a relaxing day spent floating past majestic Colorado scenery.  Either way, it’s another great way to spend time outside with the family.  These scenic rivers are also nationally recognized as gold medal waters for fly-fishing, so grab the rod and catch dinner!

We also suggest checking out one of the many disc golf courses in Summit County.  Disc golf combines the best of Frisbee and golf as it challenges your precision and accuracy as you aim to sink the disc in each basket.  There is a spectacular course located at the Frisco Pavilion, a new one opening in Dillon and a third at Copper Mountain.  It’s an easy sport to learn and fun for everyone.

As always our Activities Coordinators are here to help you organize your next Breckenridge adventure! So, stop on by and let them help you create lasting family memories at a discount that you can share on Facebook and treasure for years to come!

In addition to switching all of our winter gear over to our summer equipment we will be using this time to work on maintenance and deep cleaning projects throughout the Resort.  Our goal is to always be doing everything we can to keep the Grand Lodge in excellent condition and we will be using May to access each room and address the larger ticket items that may need attention.  We are aware that these closures can be an inconvenience, so we focus on limiting the number of closures during each week and do our best to open them as soon as possible.  We also do our best to ensure amenities aren’t closed for the same week year after year.

Our goal is to continually enhance the Resort while maintaining all of the superb amenities we already have.  We are always looking for ways to make the vacation experience even better at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, so please share any ideas you have!  We want to be better tomorrow than we are today and hope you notice this on your next trip.  We can’t wait to see you again and welcome you back home!

Below are a few property updates and closures to look for during your next visit:

  • We installed speakers in the restrooms at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7.
  • We installed a security camera system.
  • We replaced the tile floor in the steam room.
  • We replaced the carpeting in the phase 3 units.
  • We replaced the carpet tiles in the ground floor of both buildings.
  • We purchased a fork lift to assist us with our new recycling / trash procedures as well as large deliveries.  The new process will allow us to recycle more items and ultimately reduce costs to the HOA.

The sound transmission between rooms was very loud. I would suggest threasholds and sweeps on the bottoms of the doors leading to adjacant rooms.
    Thanks, Laura
