Letter from the General Manager
Greetings from your home in Breckenridge!
The calendar has turned to January and we at Grand Timber Lodge could not be more proud of what we have accomplished in 2017 and excited about what is to come in the year ahead.
2017 brought about many improvements to the resort; the most substantial is the new living room furniture that was installed in the spring. This new furniture features a clean design that’s consistent with the Arts and Crafts architecture of the resort, while providing additional, comfortable seating. In 2018, we look forward to continuing the enhancement of the living area as we upgrade the living room TVs and install new Blu-ray players. Rounding out our planned enhancements to the living areas are new, digital thermostats that provide more precise
temperature control.
We look forward to continuing the window replacement project, with Building 3 scheduled to receive new windows and shades in April and May of this year. The new windows are energy efficient and feature a durable design that will serve the resort for decades to come! This project continues the success of similar work completed in Building 2 during the spring of 2017. Ensuring a secure, durable building envelope is critical to the long-term care of the resort as we seek to provide Grand vacations for generations.
A new project that we are excited to launch this year is the replacement of bedroom furniture in Buildings 1 through 4. The new bedroom furniture will build on the style and design that you see in the dining and living areas, creating one cohesive experience. As part of the enhancement of the entire bedroom, new alarm clocks are expected to arrive in early 2018. While an alarm clock sounds like a modest update, the new clock
will bring outlets and USB charging to the nightstand, making it easy to
charge our many devices.
Is there something across the resort that we seem to be overlooking, or do you have an idea on how to make the resort better for you and your family? Send me an email and share your thoughts. We want to ensure that you enjoy your ownership and vacation experience and welcome your comments and suggestions!
As we look forward to the year ahead, here is how we wrapped up the final month of 2017:
- Our new library has opened and is fully stocked with books for your enjoyment! This comfortable, quiet space is located on the third floor of Building 2 and can be enjoyed between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm.
- We have introduced PrinterOn services for your printing needs. This service allows you to email or upload documents from your mobile device or your room and print at our guest printer without the need for a computer. See the Front Desk or Concierge for information on this new service!
- The Lodgepole Bar and Grill has introduced a new dinner specials menu, featuring their twist on comfort food each night!

I’m bummed that gtl is moving away from the mountain lodge look in the rooms. What do they new beds look like? Can we have a say? I dislike the gray couches and little swivel chairs. Miss the brown leather comfortable couches
Hello Maria,
We will pass along your feedback to the Grand Timber Lodge management team.
I too like the warm and comfortable mountain lodge furniture that is familiar and what we liked when we purchased. Contemporary colors and design aren’t as cozy or inviting.
Would love to be able to bring our dogs when we stay. Will this issue be revisited in the future?
Hello Kelly,
The HOA Board has revisited this issue multiple times and always end at the same conclusion, Grand Timber will not be a dog friendly resort. It was not sold as a dog friendly resort and there is a large owner base that purchased there because of that reason. Other properties were sold as dog friendly resorts from the beginning, which is why the policies differ. We do not anticipate the dog policy ever changing because of how the units were initially sold.
If you are on social media we would suggest joining the Grand Timber Lodge Owners Association (https://www.facebook.com/groups/GTLOA/) page to join in on this conversation. The board president runs this page and there have been many wonderful conversations about owners preferences to changes in policies. Because of owners participating on this page, some smaller policies have been changed.
I completely agree with the above comments about design. If you want a sterile new age look buy at either one of the other resorts. We dislike the designs st both of them. Keep with the GTL lodge feel, thats what we bought, not the snooty feel of the other resorts. You shouldu ask the owners before changing!!!
I love the new furniture but agree to not mke it too modern! Love the lodge feel! I would love to see the game room improved! Take out the old school vids and do something else? Karaoke room? Bowling alley? And Corn hole for outside?
I too, would much rather have the comfortable leather furniture. I would think from an upkeep and longevity perspective as well, it would be much easier and sanitary to maintain the leather over cloth furniture. Please don’t take the leather away!
