Letter from the General Manager
Greetings from your home in Breckenridge! It has been a busy and exciting ski season, but all good things must come to an end. The past few months have brought us lots of fun days on the mountain, along with a nearly full resort. As March transitions into April it’s easy to put the skis away and take the bike out, but there are still lots of fun turns and events to be had!
Arapahoe Basin will be hosting several events through the month of April to celebrate their continued season. Here are just a few of the upcoming events; The Skinners’ Breakfast on April 7, the 29th Annual Enduro on April 11, Earth Day Celebration on April 21, and Black Dog – A Led Zeppelin Cover Band on April 28. To find out more about these events or the other happenings at A-Basin go here.
April also brings Earth Day, which will be Sunday, April 22. This global event is designed to raise awareness and understanding of the environmental issues affecting our planet. At Grand Timber Lodge we are committed to doing our part to help the Earth. We have started a campaign to educate our guests on the impact plastic bottles have on the environment in an effort reduce the quantity of plastic water bottles that are purchased while on vacation. We are fortunate to have delicious, clean water at our disposal in Breckenridge and so we are committed to educating our guests that they do not need to buy bottled water. Look out for this information on your next trip and help us spread the word!
In addition, here are some things that are happening around the resort:
- We are working on installing 55” TV screens in the living room of every master unit.
- As the new TVs are installed in the living room, the existing 42” TV will be relocated to the studio unit, which means an upgrade for all of our TVs!
- Engineering is wrapping up the installation of full length mirrors in every master unit.
- Our Activities team has lots of fun new activities, including Macrame and a Wii Tournament. Make sure to stop by their desk the next time you are on property!
