Letter from the General Manager
Powabunga! It is safe to say that during the month of March, the town of Breckenridge was living in a shaken, not stirred, snow globe. We received record snow. Talk about a grand welcome into April’s spring skiing! And to top it all off, Breckenridge resort has extended its season. Instead of shutting off the chairlifts this month, Breckenridge will now keep them open until Memorial Day Weekend. Pack your T-shirts, lather up the sunscreen, and grab your skis for some magical Colorado spring skiing!
According to Breckenridge Ski Resort, it will have around 1,000 acres open to play on this spring with all levels of experience available. Peaks 6, 7, and 8 will open for as long as the terrain and Mother Nature will allow. The main access will be through the Independence SuperChair on Peak 7, T-Bar, 6-Chair, Imperial Express, and the Zendo and Kensho Chairs. Please keep in mind that although already announced, operations are weather- and condition-dependent and subject to change.
Here is a look at what has been happening at the resort:
- We had two furry visitors over the last month. Our moose friends are back to graze on aspen trees and bask in the Colorado sunshine. Although the moose seem docile, they are in fact quite dangerous and should be avoided if at all possible.
- Our activities team has brought back an old favorite in candy sushi and is looking into starting a waffle bar and partnering with local breweries to provide beer tasting on site. More info will come out when we know more!
- With the transition into spring, we have shifted our shuttle hours to 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. We will go back to 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. once the ski resort opens in November.
With spring comes spring blocks. We are excited to shut down each building for a week for deep cleaning and maintenance. If you have any suggestions for areas where we can make improvements around the property, please let us know.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to make Grand Timber Lodge a better place for you and your family. You may always send ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration!
