Letter from the Assistant General Manager
Greetings from your family at Grand Timber Lodge!
The gifts of the great snowfall this past winter keep on giving! With the dog days of summer in full swing, we are still enjoying the benefits of a great winter with copious amounts of snow still gracing the peaks and mountain valleys. This has meant a beautiful hiking season, with wildflowers and waterfalls in true glory all throughout the summer! A personal favorite hike is the nearby Mohawk Lakes, just a short drive outside of Breckenridge. The hike wanders up through the valley floor and meadows, with beautiful flowers and scenery along the way. As you approach the end of the hike, you come across some mining history, with a miner’s cabin and various pieces of equipment. Continuing past, there is not just one, but two beautiful alpine lakes with waterfalls above and below each one! Stop by the Concierge desk for a map and directions to the trailhead, or the many other famous Breckenridge hikes.
Closer to town, August is also home to the famous Breckenridge International Festival of Arts, from August 9–18. The art festival fills the Blue River Plaza with world famous artists and their true works of art. Not to be outdone though, August 23–25 brings Breckenridge Hogfest: Bacon and Bourbon. If these events are not enough to get you excited, remember that Breckenridge is almost always an escape from the summertime heat that we find around the rest of the country!
As we enjoy the beautiful summer days, here are a few things we have been working on around the resort:
- Buildings 7 and 8 have received a fresh coat of paint. Each year we complete this routine maintenance to ensure that our resort is able to withstand the intense sun exposure we experience on a daily basis.
- A secret spot to many, the deck on the third floor of Building 4 has been replaced with a fresh concrete floor. The new floor is snow melted so it can be a year-round reprieve. Those who know this spot might also consider it the best place to grill on property!
- The Boot has introduced their updated menu, complete with nightly dinner specials including pasta, salmon, or a steak offering. Make sure to check each night, as the chef enjoys finding new ideas to delight our tastes!
- Are you an electrical vehicle driver? We now have a Chargepoint charger in the Building 8 garage, which is free for our owners to use. Grand Timber Lodge was a recipient of a Charge Ahead Colorado grant, which helped to cover the cost of this amenity!
We welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to make Grand Timber Lodge a better place for you and your family. You may always send ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration!
