Letter from the Assistant General Manager

This February was truly one for the books! By February 17, we had already experienced the snowiest February on record, and after that it just kept snowing. We had, almost 10 feet of snow by the end of the month. On February 23, we had accumulated 300 inches for the year!

Mother Nature can be unpredictable, but we are excited to enjoy an extended ski season. The Breckenridge Ski Resort is scheduled to stay open through May 25, 2020 and there are numerous plans in place for live music, entertainment, on-mountain activities and more to enjoy during “Breck’s Spring Finale!”

We are also very excited by the opening of a brand-new amenity early this season; the new Ice Rink at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8. The outdoor rink is situated at the Peak 8 base area with the gondola overhead. Skating there is truly a magical experience, one not to be missed.

Aside from our great snow news, here’s a look at what has been happening at GTL!

  • Interior painting is underway in Building 3 and 4. The new paint color in these buildings carries over from Buildings 1 and 2, which completed last year, and will be complemented by new carpet later this spring.
  • New pillows have been placed in all units. These include throw pillows on sofas, decorative pillows on beds, and most importantly, new bed pillows.
  • We are piloting a program to display the shuttle’s current location on the TV just inside the Building 1 lobby. The location information gets updated every 30 seconds, which allows you to stay warm inside while waiting!
  • New Activity! We are now doing a ‘GTL Ice Skate Night’ on Tuesdays!
