Ullr Fest

December 11-15, 2019

Would you like to experience Ullr Fest as a local?! Here are some local tips that will help you navigate this fun festival like a true local! Grab your Viking caps, fur coats, koozies, favorite party people and get ready for the wild ride as a local!

Ullr Fest will be celebrating 57 years this December 11-15, 2019, and Breckenridge invites snow lovers of all ages to join the party! Ullr Fest will kick off Wednesday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m at the Riverwalk Center with the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen. Get there early when doors open at 6:00 p.m. – the first 200 attendees receive a free beer!

Make sure you sign up (like now) for the “unofficial” record breaking attempt of shots on a shot ski. This is extremely popular and will sell out very quickly. The shot ski happens on Thursday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m. on Main Street Breckenridge.

Grab your Viking helmet or purchase one at the Breckenridge Welcome Center so you can blend in with the locals and properly pay your respects to Ullr. Following the shot ski is the Ullr parade where locals get super creative and put in a lot of effort into their floats. In the past we have seen, hot tub on wheels, ski jumps and dances.

After the parade head over to the Gondola lots and join us in the town bonfire and celebrate the ultimate homage to Ullr.

Last but not least the most thrilling part of Ullr Fest is the Ullr Ice Plunge! More than 200 brave souls jump into the freezing water of Maggie Pond, this is considered the ultimate sacrifice to Ullr.

Race of the Santas & Lighting of Breckenridge

This race is for anyone that is in the holiday spirit. Not a runner but would still like to participate? Grab your Santa suit and take a walk down main street.
