Four Easy Mountain Biking Trails in Breckenridge

There are hundreds of miles of trails in Breckenridge that gives all ability riders the chance to experience the thrill and scenery of mountain biking in the mountains! If you would like to try mountain biking this summer, we think you should! Here are a few easy trails around Breckenridge to get you started.

River Trail

Start downtown Breckenridge and head north towards Frisco. Warm up the legs with a 1.4-mile ride on the bike path. The trail starts near a bridge crossing the Blue River. You will want to keep an eye on the signs, you will be able to ride on either side of the river both passing the Colorado Mountain College. Once you reach Coyne Valley Road, you will want to cross over to the other side to head back into Breckenridge. This is a busy trail, watch out for hikers, fly fisherman and other bikers!

Trail Type: 95% Singletrack

Distance: 3.0 miles

Dog Allowed: Yes

Lower Flume

The trail climbs steeply from the road grade to the flume, then flattens out for a cruisy, fun singletrack. This trail is best done as an out-and-back trail. If you are feeling up to it, you can hit Mike’s Trail on the other end, hooking up with Middle and Upper Flume trails to complete a loop.

Dog Allowed: Yes

B&B Trail

The B&B trail was the first trail completed following the conversion of the B&B mining claims to Town and County open space. The trail parallels French Gulch Road and is mostly doubletrack with a mellow grade. This is a great trail for the kids.

Distance: 1.5 miles

Elevation Climb: 113 ft

Dog Allowed: Yes

Boreas Pass Road

Boreas Pass is a historic railroad route that once connected the towns of Breckenridge and Como that has been converted into a high alpine pass road.

Distance: 14 miles

Elevation Climb: 1,081 ft

Dog Allowed: Yes
