Relaxation Edition

Just imagine waking up and telling yourself “I am on vacation, today is all about my relaxation!” You start planning for this amazing day of massages, reading a good book, hot tubbing and you realize that you forgot something important. A lot of things can slip your mind when you are super excited for a winter getaway! To make sure you don’t leave ANYTHING at home and miss out on pure relaxation, here is a list of the Top 10 Things to Pack for a Winter Getaway – Relaxation Edition!

1. A Good Book

Are you right in the middle of a good book? No reason to set it down to go on vacation! There are many places around the resort to sit back, relax and get lost in a good book.

Left your book on the plane?! Swing by Next Page Books on your way up the moutains to pick out a few news books to get you through the trip!

2. Favorite Blanket

Cozy up by the fire after a great day at the spa and relax. Having your favorite cozy blanket makes everything 100 times cozier!

The blanket didn’t quite make it in your suite case? Head on down to Cabin Fever on Main Street to find yourself a perfect blanket to snuggle the day away in. 

3. Warm Fuzzy Socks or Slippers

Curl up on the couch with your favorite blanket and warm fuzzy socks and enjoy a good book, favorite movie or sit by the window and take in the scenery.

Finding out one fuzzy pair of socks just wasn’t ennough? Swing by Joy of Socks and add one or three more pairs to your fuzy sock collection.  

4. Swimsuit

There’s no better feeling than sitting in the hot tub after an awesome day. The cold crisp air hitting your shoulders while the rest of your body soaks in the nice hot water giving you the ultimate feeling of relaxation.

Uh-oh! Your swimsuit is sitting on top of your dresser where you set it so you wouldn’t forget to pack it. A stop by Patagonia, Marmot or your resort market are now on your daily itinerary. 

5. Favorite Beverage

After a nice massage, hot tub reservation or even just sometime relaxing in the room, you are going to want one of your favorite drinks! After all, your favorite cocktail will put the icing on the cake for your relaxation day!

Looking to find a new favorite Breckenridge beverage? The Breckenridge Distillery, Broken Compass, the Breckenridge Brewery or Continental Divide Winery are all perfect places to start!

6. Going Out Attire

After a day of pampering yourself, why not continue? Hit the town for some après. Breckenridge is a very laid back ski town, there is no need to get all dressed while you are here. Bring along warm and comfortable clothes like sweaters, jeans, leggings and long sleeve shirts.

Don’t forget to make your restaurant reservations! With limited dining resctritions, reservations are required at most restaurants. 

7. A Mask

Part of enjoying a relaxing vacation is making sure you can see all the sights and enjoy every activity. With the Town of Breckenridge mask requirement, make sure your have one packed so you don’t miss out on all the vacation fun!

Masks are required in indoor areas open to the general public, or outdoors whenever six feet of separation cannot be maintained, while at any Breckenridge Grand Vacations resort. If you forgot yours, don’t worry we have you covered. Masks and hand sanitation stations are located around all BGV resorts.



8. Ski Tickets/Passes/Ski Reservation

Want first chair and fresh tracks? That powder isn’t going to last forever. To avoid the ticket office lines, make sure that you have your lift tickets and/or season pass.

 New this year and something to not forget it to make a ski reservation ahead of time. The reservations fill up fast, so if you are looking to get out on the mountain, don’t forget to make your reservation!

9. Sunglasses and Sunscreen

Breckenridge is located at 9,600 feet, making the sun nearly 40 times stronger than at sea level. Make sure you pack eye protection with UVB protection and sunscreen. There is no bigger bummer than getting a sunburn on a winter vacation.

Forgot your suncreen? Swing by a resort spa or market to pick some up! If you find yourself in the need for some new sunnies, Sun Logic on Main Stree is a great place to pick some new ones up. 

10. Reusable Water Bottle

At a high altitude it is important to stay hydrated! Keeping hydrated will help keep altitude sickness at bay and ensure that relaxing vacation you are looking for. Why not stay hydrated while also protecting the environment while bringing your own reusable water bottle.

Now that you have that packing list ready, it’s time to start packing! If you get to Breckenridge and realize you forgot something, don’t stress. Take a stroll down Main Street and I am sure you will find what you need plus some!
