Mike and I couldn’t be any prouder to let our extended family know that just last month, Breckenridge Grand Vacations was named the 2018 #1 Top Workplace for a large business in Colorado, based on anonymous surveys of almost 50,000 Colorado employees, including more than 300 BGV employees! This is the first time that a Summit County, Colorado employer has ever received that honor. This award was bestowed on us April 19, at the Denver Post Top Workplaces Gala at the Seawell Grand Ballroom in Denver. Several BGV employees were present to accept this honor.
I am sure you can imagine our excitement at achieving such a Grand award, but we also wanted to take this opportunity to provide some background on it. BGV has been participating in the Denver Post’s Top Workplaces recognition program for quite a few years, and while we have consistently been ranked fairly high, this is the first time we have been named #1. In 2017, we were ranked 24th in the midsize company range, as an organization must have more than 500 employees in order to qualify for the large company category.
For Mike and me, the best part of receiving this award is that it provides direct feedback from our employees. This feedback allows us to understand what is working well, what opportunities we have to improve, how supported our employees feel in their roles, as well as the overall health of our organization’s culture. We take great care to pay close attention to this feedback, and we have worked hard to put our employees’ insights into action. We are pleased that our efforts have resulted in this award, but we won’t stop there! Here at BGV, we have always striven to improve with time, and we promise you, our owners, as well as all of our employees, that we will continue to remain open to learning how we can keep improving.
