View from the Bottom

The start of a New Year is an exciting time. This year, at the base of Peak 8, the excitement level is higher than ever. Tracing back to the original Breckenridge Ski Resort runs in 1961, Peak 8 has always offered some of the best skiing and snowboarding in North America. With the opening of new amenities at the Grand Colorado, the Peak 8 experience has reached new heights. The Grand Colorado is now your convenient central location for all skier services, including gear rental and sales, lift tickets, and the ski and ride school. We’ve even included an escalator to whisk you to the slopes.

As your gondola car glides into the Peak 8 station, you are barely a triple axel away from the new Grand Colorado on Peak 8 Ice Rink. Open to the public, the rink offers skate rentals and family-friendly fun for all ages.

The new Ullr Café, a modern mountain coffeehouse, is just steps away inside the Grand Colorado. Get a fast start to your day with grab-and-ski breakfast offerings—from bagels to burritos—and your favorite coffee drink. When it’s time for a different kind of warm-up, choose from a selection of classic cocktails, including Ullr’s fully loaded Bloody Mary—olives, pepperoncini, pickled okra, lime, bacon, cheese and even a pig-in-a-blanket—served in a souvenir mug! Or choose your libation from a shining wall of self-pour wine and Colorado beer taps and then enjoy your beverage from a seat on the heated slope-side plaza.

If it sounds like we’re proud, well, we are. We think we have created an experience that matches the majesty of our mountains. While everyone will enjoy these improvements, we designed them with the needs of our family of BGV owners in mind. Bring your BGV owner’s card to receive a 10% discount at the Ice Rink and Ullr Café! No matter which BGV resort is your vacation home, we hope to see you soon at the new Peak 8.
